Solar Savings:
Illinois Incentives
Here's the Scoop:
Illinois is one of a few states that is offering some amazing incentives for solar.
How It Works:
Illinois is the rare state that offers solar system owners the opportunity to earn cash for the power they generate. This is called the Adjustable Block Program.
Adjustable Block (AB) Program
The Illinois AB Program is an incentive program that encourages new solar installs in Illinois through the purchase of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs).
Why is Illinois Doing This?
Illinois is unique as it requires 25% of its electricity to come from renewable energy sources. That means you can sell your power to help utilities reach their goals. The Adjustable Block Program is not open-ended, meaning the earlier you apply, the more cash you’ll earn back when you go solar.

And Don't Forget the Federal Tax Credit
In addition to net metering and SRECs, solar system owners are also eligible for the federal solar tax credit.
The federal solar tax credit gives you a dollar-for-dollar reduction against your federal income tax. The value of the tax credit is 30%. This means between the state and federal rebates, you will get more than 50% of the cost of your system back from the government. That's pretty sweet.
